Florida CRNA Makes a Big Impact

Jose Castillo III, PhD, MSNA, CRNA, APRN, makes a positive impact for nurses and patients in the Sunshine State. Jose was appointed to the advanced practice registered nurse seat of the Florida Board of Nursing by Governor Ron DeSantis and confirmed by the Florida Senate in 2022. He was then elected as chair of the board.

“I am passionate about equipping nurses with tools, support and education to make them successful.” – Jose Castillo III, PhD, MSNA, CRNA, APRN

As chair, he puts his passion into practice through licensing, monitoring and educating nurses.

Advancing Healthcare in Florida

Jose’s work on the Board serves patients too. When appropriate, the Board disciplines professional misconduct and rehabilitates nurses to ensure Florida nurses are competent and able to provide the highest quality patient care.

Jose improves healthcare statewide through nursing societies as well. He is past president of the Florida Association of Nurse Anesthetists and former chair of its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. He is also a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and the Florida Nurses Association.
