Jay Mesrobian, MD, brings innovative and valuable talents to TeamHealth as the national medical director and chief clinical officer of TeamHealth Anesthesiology. In this role, he is responsible for advancing the prime tenets of the service line, including:
- clinical quality and patient safety
- clinical operations
- patient experience
- practice management and leadership
- performance improvement
- business development
Dr. Mesrobian has a unique mix of clinical, leadership and business experience. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Mesrobian worked in both academic and private practices for more than 25 years in Columbia, South Carolina, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. From 2017-2019, he served as the vice chair for affiliated practices in the Department of Anesthesiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He also served as a regional medical director for TeamHealth Anesthesiology from 2015-2017, providing leadership and strategic planning expertise to practices and client hospitals in Ohio, Georgia, Florida and South Carolina.
Dr. Mesrobian currently serves as assistant treasurer for the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) and as a board member of ASA, the Anesthesia Quality Institute and the Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation. He also served as president of the Wisconsin Society of Anesthesiologists from 2007-2009.
Dr. Mesrobian received his undergraduate degree in philosophy from Princeton University and his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and is a board-certified physician anesthesiologist.
