TeamHealth, a leading clinician services organization, announced today that Phillip W. “Phil” Roe, CEO of Martin Ventures, has joined the TeamHealth Board of Directors.
As CEO of Martin Ventures, Phil leads the investment committee and provides day-to-day oversight for all portfolio activity. Phil joined Martin Ventures in June 2015 after serving as vice president of finance for Tenet Healthcare following its acquisition of Vanguard Health System in October 2013.
“We are very pleased to welcome Phil to the TeamHealth Board of Directors,” said Leif Murphy, president and CEO of TeamHealth. “Phil’s vast knowledge of the healthcare landscape and tenured leadership at various health-focused organizations will add value to our board as we continue to position TeamHealth as the leading clinician practice in the country.”
Prior to his career at Tenet, where his primary responsibility was for their health plans, Phil served in multiple leadership roles at Vanguard Health Systems since the company’s inception in 1997, including executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer and chief accounting officer. Before joining Vanguard, Phil was the controller and chief accounting officer for OrNda Healthcorp, and he began his career with EY where he was a senior manager before joining OrNda.
“I am honored to have been selected to serve on TeamHealth’s Board of Directors, and I look forward to working with this successful leadership team to continue the company’s commitment to best-in-class clinical quality and patient safety,” said Phil Roe.
