TeamHealth Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Oliver Rogers, Announces Retirement; Mike Wiechart Named as Successor
(KNOXVILLE, Tenn.) April 11, 2017 – TeamHealth Holdings, Inc., a leading physician services organization, today announced the retirement of Oliver Rogers, executive vice president (EVP) and chief operating officer (COO), and the appointment of Mike Wiechart as the company’s new EVP and COO. Wiechart will join the company May 1.
“Throughout his tenure, Oliver was instrumental in achieving unprecedented growth and client retention while improving operational efficiency and promoting innovation,” said Leif Murphy, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of TeamHealth. “With a career that spans four decades of healthcare management, Oliver’s leadership contributed significantly to TeamHealth’s success. We thank him for his loyal service to the company and wish him the very best as he retires.”

Wiechart offers nearly 30 years of healthcare management experience, most recently serving as founder and managing director of Sunergeo Health Partners, LLC. He formerly served as president and CEO of RCCH Healthcare Partners; vice chairman, president and CEO of Capella Healthcare; and senior vice president and COO of Capella Healthcare. Additionally, Wiechart served in various senior executive leadership roles for LifePoint Health, Province Healthcare Company and Hospital Corporation of America. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee. Currently, Wiechart is a doctoral candidate in health services administration at the University of Alabama – Birmingham School of Health Professions.
