Joseph Chow, MD, MBA

Dr. Joseph Chow is a proven leader and brings years of knowledge and skills to the company. Dr. Chow works closely with ambulatory care facilities and virtual care to ensure healthy business relationships and leads initiatives such as:

  • quality and safety
  • clinical leadership
  • physician and advanced practice clinician relations
  • organizational and business development

Dr. Chow is responsible for the development and review of clinical protocols, and he provides executive guidance to clinical risk programs and business development. He is an actively practicing urgent care physician in his clinics.

After joining TeamHealth in 2012, Dr. Chow served as medical director for two full-service, high-volume urgent care centers. In 2013, he received TeamHealth Ambulatory Care’s Medical Director of the Year Award and graduated from TeamHealth’s Coaches Development Academy. Dr. Chow serves on the TeamHealth Patient Safety Organization and Substance Use Work Group. He is also on the Clinical Advisory Board for TeamHealth VirtualCare. Dr. Chow is the immediate past president of the Urgent Care Association, and he continues to serve on the board of UCA as well as the Urgent Care Foundation. He earned his medical degree from the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and completed his residency in family medicine at the University at Rochester. He also holds a master’s of business administration from the University at Buffalo. Dr. Chow is a clinical assistant professor of family medicine with the University at Buffalo and member of the Healthcare Advisory Panel at the School of Management.
