Volunteer Ministry Center Wins TeamHealth Cares Charity Contest!

TeamHealth celebrated #GivingTuesday all month long with our annual #TeamHealthCares charity contest. We collaborated with Knoxville Habitat for Humanity, Volunteer Ministry Center and the Boys & Girls Club of America to celebrate the spirit of giving and asked our supporters to visit the TeamHealth Cares website to vote for the organization of their choice to receive a $10,000 donation from TeamHealth.

Voting was close, and it came down to the very end, but our 2018 #TeamHealthCares charity contest winner is Volunteer Ministry Center!

“What a perfect way to begin the year 2019!” exclaimed Rev. Dr. Bruce W. Spangler, CEO of Volunteer Ministry Center (VMC) upon being notified of VMC’s honor of receiving $10,000 from TeamHealth as a part of their TeamHealth Cares Campaign.

“This annual opportunity is a wonderful way for TeamHealth and the TeamHealth Cares Campaign to partner with local agencies in meeting the social challenges in our community. VMC is dedicated to ending and preventing homelessness for individuals and families and this gift is a perfect way to meet the challenge and experience or near experience of homelessness. Apart from TeamHealth and the TeamHealth Cares Campaign, I also want to thank those VMC supporters and friends who took time to register their vote. Ever so grateful for such generosity and support, VMC will continue to its efforts, along with other providers in our community, in demonstrating that homelessness is an unacceptable experience for anyone,” added Dr. Spangler.

The Volunteer Ministry Center (VMC) is a non-profit 501(3)(c) organization and offers specialized services to individuals experiencing homelessness and those within our community who are in crisis. VMC’s programs support its two-fold mission of facilitating permanent supportive housing for those who are homeless and providing services to prevent homelessness.

Some of the winning charities we’ve supported since 2011 include the United Way, YWCA Knoxville and the Tennessee Valley, American Red Cross and the Ronald McDonald House Charities. TeamHealth Cares creates a giving culture and builds team unity with the common goal to help support great causes in our community. Thank you to everyone who voted in our #TeamHealthCares holiday campaign – and CONGRATS to Volunteer Ministry Center!
