TeamHealth Partners with Children’s Hospital for Knoxville’s First Pediatric Urgent Care Center

We are excited to share more news of TeamHealth’s partnership with East Tennessee Children’s Hospital to open Children’s Hospital Urgent Care. The new urgent care facility opened on Monday, April 16, 2018, at Children’s Hospital West Campus at Westland Drive and Pellissippi Parkway in Knoxville, and started seeing patients at 5 p.m.

Accidents and illnesses are not convenient, but Children’s Hospital Urgent Care is. When most pediatrician’s offices are closed, the urgent care center will be open on nights and weekends from 5 p.m. to midnight Monday through Friday, and 2 p.m. to midnight on weekends and holidays. Board-certified pediatricians and pediatric nurses will treat children from newborn to age 21 for non-life threatening injuries and illnesses.

“Little children are not just little adults, they have unique needs, they have unique medication needs,” said Dr. Lynn Massingale, TeamHealth Co-Founder and Chairman.

Compassionate care will not stop at the urgent care center. As partners with local pediatricians, Children’s Hospital Urgent Care will provide timely reports sent directly to the patient’s pediatrician’s office to ensure continuity of care.
