TeamHealth just wrapped up our Share Happiness contest and want to thank all the physicians and advanced practice clinicians who shared their stories of what brings them joy! All physicians and APCs were eligible to participate by sharing a picture and story of how they like to share happiness. From hiking your favorite trails, to cooking your favorite meals or spending quality time with loved ones, we received a record number of entries!
The TeamHealth Share Happiness contest ran October 1 through October 31, 2018, and by sharing their pictures and stories clinicians were entered to win big prizes from Apple, REI, Target and Amazon. We are proud of every clinician, and the Share Happiness contest is one of the ways we can show them support both personally and professionally.

“On December 25, 2017, my 35-year-old husband suffered from a spontaneous carotid dissection which led to a severe stroke, disabling his speech and movement of the right side of his body. He was taken for emergent surgical therapy, where the clot was removed and he regained blood flow to the brain. At that time, I was 34 weeks pregnant with my second daughter. In a split of a second my entire world crumbled in front of me and I couldn’t do anything as a physician. With the power of prayer, my husband has now fully recovered. He is able to regain all the functions of daily living and I delivered my beautiful daughter on February 2, 2018. My happiness is my family. Life is too short to waste and not appreciate the love and strength that my family provides to me. They are my biggest blessings and I’m so happy to have them in my life every day.”

“Being in the mountains brings me great happiness. This is from this past October when I saw the granddaddy of mountain ranges: the Himalayas. I did a 20d trek along the Everest Three Passes trail, passing through incredible scenery– four of the world’s ten tallest peaks, imposing glaciers, turquoise lakes, and more. It was challenging for sure, but I love that unique feeling of tranquility that stays with you, even after you leave. Minus aging knees, I feel better now than I ever have, mentally and physically. As Sir Edmund Hillary said, “It’s not mountains we conquer, but ourselves.”
