2018 National Medical Leadership Conference

We’re in Nashville this year for our 2018 TeamHealth National Medical Leadership Conference, April 2-5. During the conference, you will hear from several industry leaders during keynotes and breakout sessions, attend nightly receptions, attend our Women In Leadership symposium, and awards ceremony. TeamHealth leaders will also present our 2018 Medical Directors and Advanced Practice Clinician of the Year.

At the conference, President and CEO Leif Murphy will share important company updates, and our leaders will learn about Zenith, TeamHealth’s new mobile app for communication, collaboration and clinician resources. We will honor the Dr. Gar LaSalle Medical Directors of the Year and Advanced Practice Clinician of the Year, and we will also recognize the Regional Medical Director (RMD) and Vice President of Operation (VPO) teams of the Year.

Keynote Speaker, Bonnie St. John. Despite having her right leg amputated at age five, Bonnie St. John became the first African-American ever to win medals in Winter Olympic competition, taking home a silver and two bronze medals at the 1984 Winter Paralympics in Innsbruck, Austria. Bonnie will join us and tell us her story about creating cultures of resilience despite challenging circumstances. Through a series of practical exercises and techniques, Bonnie will guide us in the practice of offsetting the negative effects of stress and increasing resilience to achieve breakthrough performance in our organization.

Keynote Speaker, Dr. John Medina. Wherever the very latest neuroscience intersects with real-world challenges facing the workplace, education, healthcare, and our everyday lives, you will find energizing insights from brain scientist John Medina. His client-customized presentations, based on his own research, share a common takeaway: How to optimize the performance of the human brain by improving, practices, interactions and environments. Whether you are looking to maximize productivity, enhance creativity and innovation, improve learning and engagement, make better hiring choices or market more effectively, Dr. Medina unlocks solutions and explains the fascinating inner-workings of the human brain with his trademark humor and enthusiasm.

TeamHealth’s Women In Leadership group is aimed at the recruitment, development and retention of female leaders at TeamHealth. Started in 2016, the group contains more than 600 members, connecting women through social media and learning events. The group is excited to sponsor the Women in Leadership Symposium. During the symposium, we will also present our annual Women in Leadership Award. The award is designed to recognize the contributions of a female leader within TeamHealth. The Women in Leadership Award is presented for demonstration of exemplary leadership abilities that enable others to succeed in the healthcare field. Leadership of noteworthy contributions to the healthcare field on a single project over several years or during a career; commitment to professional growth, and service as a role model or mentor that shows dedication to the advancement of women in healthcare.

Attendees of the National Medical Leadership Conference are invited to join us for a session of networking, panel discussions and keynote speech by Vernice Armour, the first African American female combat pilot.
Leveraging her “Breakthrough Mentality” and “Get Gutsy” mindset, Vernice “FlyGirl” Armour propelled herself from beat cop to combat pilot in a record-breaking three years and became America’s first African American female combat pilot. As featured on CNN, MSNBC, The View, FOX News, Oprah Winfrey and others, FlyGirl’s fresh and edgy style, high and contagious energy and unique, gutsy essence jump off the stage, page and screen, moving people to action.

We look forward to seeing all of you at #NMLC18!
