Caring for clinicians as they care for our communities

As the COVID-19 crisis swiftly unfolded, it impacted nearly all of our clinical teams across the nation. TeamHealth clinicians fought to ensure life-saving care for their patients while we stood behind them to guarantee they had the resources needed.

Clinician and patient safety support

While our clinicians worked tirelessly to provide life-saving care in the uncertainty of the early days of the virus, we worked to support them with major operational adjustments. We created the Emerging Infectious Disease Task Force to provide specific clinical and operational findings of clinical manifestations for COVID-19 with all TeamHealth clinicians nationwide. We also leveraged resources to ship personal protective equipment (PPE) where it was the most needed. In all, TeamHealth gathered and shipped more than $2.5 million worth of N95 respirators, face shields, gowns and other supplies to frontline clinicians.

Resource support

As the virus continued to race through communities large and small we developed a guidance document on what emergency department (ED) clinical teams should consider while operating during the pandemic.

The Emerging Infectious Disease Task Force continues to organize efforts, pool resources and prepare for what’s next in the pandemic including Clinician 411, a hotline available for clinician questions 24/7.

Clinician well-being support

We also continually assured clinician health was a priority, placing great emphasis on mental health with regular well-being checks. In addition, we ensured clinicians and their main support system, their families, could easily access counseling through the Well-being Support web page.
