Job Description

HCA Florida West Hospital is seeking a board certified or board eligible internal medicine or family medicine hospitalist to join our established and collegial HM team in beautiful Pensacola, Florida. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a supportive, well-resourced environment while enjoying one of the most desirable coastal lifestyles in the Southeast.

Position Highlights

• Average patient volume of approximately 19 patients/billable encounters per physician
• No ICU or CCU primary coverage; hospital medicine does not manage ICU/CCU patients
• The ICU is a 42-bed closed unit with a dedicated intensivist team
• ICU team responds to all code blue events day and night
• Hospitalist physicians also respond to code blues when the patient is on the HM service
• Practice within a 515-bed tertiary care facility
• Excellent specialty support across a wide range of services

The hospital offers robust specialty coverage, allowing hospitalists to focus on high-quality inpatient medical care while collaborating closely with consultants and critical care colleagues.

Ideal Candidate

• Board certified or board eligible in IM or FM
• Active (or ability to obtain) Florida medical license
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Team-oriented, patient-centered approach to care
• Comfortable responding to code blue events for patients on the hospital medicine service
