Job Description

AdventHealth Lake Nona, a cornerstone of the AdventHealth system, is seeking a dynamic and experienced facility medical director to lead our emergency medicine team. Located in beautiful Orlando, Florida, this role offers the unique opportunity to guide a high-performing emergency department team in a world-class, mission-driven healthcare environment.

As the FMD, you will be responsible for the clinical and administrative oversight of the ED, ensuring high-quality patient care, operational excellence, and strategic alignment with AdventHealth’s values and goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of emergency physicians and advanced practice clinicians
• Oversee clinical performance, quality metrics, and patient experience initiatives
• Collaborate with hospital leadership to ensure optimal ED operations and integration with hospital services
• Drive innovation, efficiency, and best practices in emergency medicine delivery
• Serve as a mentor and role model for clinical staff and promote a culture of excellence and compassion

Qualifications

• Board certified in EM (ABEM or AOBEM)
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of clinical leadership experience in an ED
• Demonstrated success in team leadership, performance improvement, and strategic planning
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care
