TeamHealth is seeking an inspirational and highly skilled emergency medicine (EM) medical director to guide our dedicated team of physicians and advanced practice clinicians in providing outstanding emergency care to the Sweetwater, Tennessee, community. 

Role Overview

• Provide clinical, operational, and administrative leadership for the emergency department (ED)
• Balance direct patient care with strategic oversight to ensure top-tier emergency services
• Champion a culture of quality, safety, efficiency, and compassionate care

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee ED performance, including workflow optimization and quality improvement initiatives
• Lead, mentor, and develop the physician and APC team
• Ensure adherence to clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices
• Collaborate with hospital leadership to drive departmental growth and innovation
• Support staffing, scheduling, and resource management to maintain exceptional patient experience

About the City

Sweetwater is in Monroe County between Knoxville and Chattanooga. Nestled along the beautiful Appalachian Mountain range, Sweetwater is part of the Cherokee National Forest and offers camping, hiking, biking, fishing, horseback riding, panning for gold, and nature viewing. The forest features Bald River Falls and the Tellico River, where it is not uncommon to see a kayaker or a leisurely fly fisherman. The Cherohala National Scenic Byway goes from this area to western North Carolina and is a very popular route. Fort Loudon State Historic Park has a replica of an 18th century, British fort that once stood near this site.
