Banner Churchill Community Hospital is a 25-bed licensed hospital serving the Fallon, Nevada, community. The facility received a 4-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services based on patient experience surveys. Offering acute and primary care, Banner Churchill Community Hospital provides a full range of services, including comprehensive emergency care with an ambulance service that covers more than 5,900 square miles. Opened in 1996, Banner Churchill Community Hospital serves a rural population of approximately 45,000 people, and employs over 300 people and has over 40 active physicians and allied health professionals.
Located in the Lahontan Valley, Fallon is the county seat of Churchill County, Nevada, in the western part of the state. Fallon and Churchill County are mostly agricultural areas. Although the area is arid, approximately 50,000 acres of its pastureland are irrigated with water from the Truckee-Carson Irrigation District. The principal crop grown is alfalfa for livestock feed. The largest single employer in Fallon and Churchill County is the important Naval Air Station Fallon, a training airfield that has been the home of the U.S. Navy's Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center including the TopGun training program since 1996, when it was moved to Fallon from Naval Air Station Miramar.
