This comprehensive emergency department offers a team that is trained to treat the full spectrum of pediatric emergencies with access to board certified pediatric specialists. About El Paso Children’s Hospital ED

  • Annual patient volume of 27,000
  • 13-bed ED
  • EMR: Cerner
  • 24 hours of physician coverage (12-hour shifts)
  • 12 to 24 hours of APC coverage

Position Requirements

  • Board-certified acute care nurse practitioner (ACNP or AGACNP) through ANCC or AACN, or board-certified pediatric primary care nurse practitioner (PPCNP) through ANCC
  • Prefer 2+ years in peds
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team of APCs
  • Current ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Texas medical license and DEA or ability to obtain prior to start date

El Paso Children's Hospital is a 122-bed teaching hospital associated with Texas Tech University. El Paso Children's Hospital has the full spectrum of pediatric specialties including pediatric imaging, pediatric inpatient and outpatient infusion, pediatric intensive care unit, pediatric operating rooms, pediatric critical care transport team, and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit. El Paso Children's Hospital has over 30 specialties and is always growing.

El Paso lies in far west Texas and is the 19th most populous city in the U.S. with a population of almost 650,000.
