Opened in 1960 by the Franciscan Sisters of St. Joseph the Sisters Hospital, St. Joseph Campus has been serving Cheektowaga and Western New York's Eastern Suburbs for more than a half-century. Sisters of Charity Hospital was awarded Healthgrades' highest rating in Total Knee Replacement for the second straight year. This hospital is in the top five percent in the nation for Orthopedic Services by Healthgrades in 2018. Sisters of Charity Hospital - St. Joseph Campus meets the highest healthcare standards set forth by the Joint Commission. Sisters of Charity Hospital St. Joseph Campus is part of the Catholic Health System in Buffalo, New York. Catholic Health is a non-profit healthcare system that provides care to Western New Yorkers across a network of hospitals, primary care centers, imaging centers, and several other community ministries. The emergency room at St. Joseph Campus is staffed by a team of certified emergency physicians, physician assistants and nurses whose services are available 24 hours a day. The emergency department, constructed in 2005, features 18 specially-designed private treatment rooms with computer access for bedside registration, as well as a comfortable two-story lobby and an open nurses' station design that allows for greater family access.
