TeamHealth Names Steve Clifton Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary and Eric Norman Chief Human Resources Officer

TeamHealth names Steve Clifton executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary effective Sept. 14, 2015, and Eric Norman chief human resources officer effective Oct. 1, 2015.

As executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for TeamHealth, Clifton will provide counsel to TeamHealth’s Board of Directors and clinical and administrative leadership. He will also direct and manage the legal functions of the organization, including corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory and contractual compliance, partnerships and affiliations, and healthcare operations. Prior to joining TeamHealth, Clifton most recently served as senior vice president and general counsel at Health Management Associates (HMA) and the vice president of legal operations at Hospital Corporation of America (HCA). Clifton received his bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University and his law degree from the University of Kentucky. “For more than two decades, Steve has built an impressive track record of providing invaluable strategic and operational leadership at top-tier healthcare organizations,” said Michael D. As chief human resources officer for TeamHealth, Norman will oversee and manage the organization’s human resources (HR) infrastructure as it relates to talent acquisition and management, development, compensation and benefits, and employee relations for TeamHealth’s more than 19,000 affiliated healthcare providers and administrative employees. Prior to his time at TeamHealth, Norman served as the senior vice president of HR, senior vice president of sales operations and HR corporate business partners, vice president of HR for pharmaceutical distribution, and director of HR for Cardinal Health. Norman holds a bachelor’s degree in human resources management from the University of Texas at San Antonio, is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and has received his Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification. “With more than 25 years of human resources experience within the healthcare industry, Eric’s new role as chief human resources officer will strengthen TeamHealth’s reputation as a leading physician services organization,” said Michael D.
