This facility is the flagship hospital of the Creighton University academic health system. CHI Health Bergan Mercy is a brand-new, avant-garde, Level I Trauma Center and academic facility and the only health system to serve Nebraska and southwest Iowa with a Level I Trauma Center. The facility’s state-of-the-art 58-bed ED sees 36,000 patients annually and features 35 hours of physician coverage, 24 hours of advanced practice clinician coverage and opportunities to teach Creighton University residents in the Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Geriatric and Obstetrics programs. Other perks include bedside ultrasound, 24-7 Radiology coverage, an extremely low patient-per-hour ratio and rapid door-to-physician times.
