TeamHealth is recruiting a core faculty member for MountainView Internal Medicine GME program in partnership with HCA GME, located in Las Vegas, Nevada. Candidates trained in geriatrics medicine interested in hospital medicine will be ideal candidates to join our diverse group of physicians that work well together. TeamHealth's MountainView Hospital (MTV) program is a hospitalist practice that is contracted with the hospital for HCA GME teaching service and unassigned emergency department call.
There are 62 residents in the internal medicine (IM) program and 13 residents in the transitional year program. The position involves conducting teaching rounds with residents on a dedicated GME team. The IM program began in July 2016, and received 10-year accreditation from ACGME in October of 2018.
Average daily encounters are 100-110, depending on seasonality. There is wide variation in Las Vegas at this community focused hospital with the highest volume in November through March.
Five providers (all ABIM Board certified) serve as core faculty for the five teaching teams. Additional boarded physicians serve for cross coverage and overflow patients and admitting physicians.
The core faculty work 48 weeks per year. They are supported by two full time nocturnists that work 7x7. The qualified candidate will be ABIM certified.
