Our emergency department (ED) is a vital part of our facility, providing emergency care with excellence and compassion. We are seeking an experienced nurse practitioner (NP) or physician assistant (PA) to join our dedicated team.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients on arrival at the emergency department
- Diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions, including trauma, acute illnesses, and injuries
- Create and execute treatment plans, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
- Administer medications, perform procedures, and provide necessary interventions
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for coordinated patient care
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing clear explanations of diagnoses and treatment plans
- Maintain up-to-date electronic medical records (EMRs) for all patient interactions
- Adhere to evidence-based guidelines and quality standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the emergency department
- Stay updated on advancements in emergency medicine through ongoing education and training
- Assist in disaster and emergency response efforts as required
- Familiarize yourself with local and regional emergency response protocols
Qualifications:
- Active nurse practitioner or physician assistant license in Kentucky
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Prior experience in an emergency department or urgent care setting is advantageous
- Proficient clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to thrive under pressure and handle emergent situations effectively
