Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cardiac consulting and follow-up care to short stay patients in skilled nursing facilities
  • Perform physical examinations
  • Analyze pathophysiology for cardiovascular disease processes
  • Interpret stress and electrocardiogram (EKG) tests
  • Order and interpret lab results
  • Prescribe and monitor medications
  • Develop cardiac treatment plans
  • Manage patients with cardiac defibrillators and pacemakers
  • Coordinate care with collaborating physicians as indicated for overall medical management
  • Present continuing education for nurses
  • Promote healthy lifestyle changes

Qualifications:
  • Active and unrestricted Arizona nurse practitioner (NP) or physician assistant (PA) license and current board certification in your field or have an application in process
  • Active and unrestricted DEA or have an application in process
  • Cardiac experience or post-acute care experience required
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills preferred
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must possess traits of punctuality, organizational skills, and ability to function within a team
