Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cardiac consulting and follow-up care to short stay patients in skilled nursing facilities
- Perform physical examinations
- Analyze pathophysiology for cardiovascular disease processes
- Interpret stress and electrocardiogram (EKG) tests
- Order and interpret lab results
- Prescribe and monitor medications
- Develop cardiac treatment plans
- Manage patients with cardiac defibrillators and pacemakers
- Coordinate care with collaborating physicians as indicated for overall medical management
- Present continuing education for nurses
- Promote healthy lifestyle changes
Qualifications:
- Active and unrestricted Arizona nurse practitioner (NP) or physician assistant (PA) license and current board certification in your field or have an application in process
- Active and unrestricted DEA or have an application in process
- Cardiac experience or post-acute care experience required
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills preferred
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must possess traits of punctuality, organizational skills, and ability to function within a team
