Provide safe, high-quality patient care as a physician on the emergency department (ED) team at Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma, Alabama. Vaughan Regional Medical Center's emergency department serves Dallas and surrounding counties 24 hours, seven days a week, treating more than 28,000 patients annually. The 17-bed ED is staffed with experienced physicians and nurses specifically trained in emergency medicine. Four of the 17 beds are on fast track. Qualified physician coverage is provided during peak hours. There is 31 hours of daily physician coverage and 18 hours of midlevel coverage daily. The admission rate is 14% with 25% pediatrics seen. Some specialty back up coverage is provided.
The ED was recently renovated and expanded. Renovations include an additional 2,500 square feet to the existing ED, two new state-of-the-art trauma rooms, as well as new and expanded waiting, triage and registration areas. A new front entrance canopy area was also added for patient convenience.

Selma is a city in and the county seat of Dallas County, Alabama, located on the banks of the Alabama River. The population was 20,756 according to the 2010 census. The city is best known for its role in the 1965 Selma Voting Rights Movement and the Selma to Montgomery marches, three civil rights marches that began in the city.
