TeamHealth is seeking a board certified internal medicine physician with a strong academic interest to join our team as an associate program director (APD) at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The position will be inpatient based and the APD will be responsible for management of the inpatient teaching services in addition to other administrative roles. Mercer University Grand Strand Medical Center Internal Medicine program has 13 residents per academic year. We also have fellowships in palliative care and endocrinology and are a 3rd year core site for a local medical school hosting 20 medical students each year in addition to numerous 4th year medical students from across the country. The hospital is a 403-bed acute care hospital that serves as a tertiary referral center for the Myrtle Beach area. The position will consist of 20-22 weeks of inpatient medicine with an expectations of approximately 30 hours per month dedicated to administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate should have 3 or more years as faculty or APD and a strong interest in research and quality improvement.
