TeamHealth has an excellent full-time opening for an internal medicine trained physician interested in caring for patients in an established acute rehabilitation setting at The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis - St. Peters. Serve as a medical consult for medically complex patients and work collaboratively with PM&R, nephrology, neurology and a full spectrum of therapists. Candidates must have acute rehab experience or experience as a hospitalist in an acute care setting and must offer strong communication skills with medical staff and nursing staff.
As small practice there is a tight working relationship amongst all professionals. See up to 15-20 acute rehab patient encounters daily and oversee transfers to the emergency department (ED) and back to the rehab floor. Physician will remain on-call for The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis - St. Peters until 7 p.m. the day you are scheduled. No procedures.
Enjoy a schedule of three days per week with a round-and-go model to support a quality lifestyle. Work up to 8 hours per day in-house at an acute rehab. Estimate most days will be 5-6 hours in-house at facility. There is opportunity to pick up shifts as a Hospitalist at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital to compliment your hours in the acute rehab outside of the three-days-per-week schedule.

The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis - St. Peters is a state-of-the-art, 35-bed inpatient rehab hospital that offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient rehab services. The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis - St. Peters is equipped with Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy. All rooms are private and include access to 24/7 registered nursing care. There are four bariatric rooms equipped with patient lifts. Rooms include amenities such as televisions, telephones, and wifi. Patients have access to an active daily living area with bedroom, kitchen and bath.
