TeamHealth Announces Eight New Clinical Outsourcing Contracts

(KNOXVILLE, Tenn.) January 21, 2008 –TeamHealth, the nation’s largest provider of hospital-based clinical outsourcing, announced today that it has initiated staffing and management services for eight hospitals during December 2007 and January 2008. These contracts represent five emergency department (ED) and three hospital medicine programs in seven states.  

TeamHealth will provide emergency department staffing and management services to:
Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston, W.V.;
Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tenn.;
The Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky.;
Glades General Hospital in Belle Glades, Fla.; and
Dublin Methodist Hospital in Dublin, Ohio.

Combined, the EDs at these facilities see approximately 176,600 patients a year.

TeamHealth will provide hospital medicine services to:
Henry Medical Center in Stockbridge, Ga.;
Metrowest Medical Center in Natick, Mass.; and
O'Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio.

These hospitals combined have approximately 4,600 patient admissions annually.

These new contracts conclude a stellar year of growth for TeamHealth. During 2007, the organization added a remarkable 44 new contracts to its client base. Additionally, during the same time period, 912 new physicians—226 of whom were recently graduated residents—and 559 physician assistants and nurse practitioners chose to join TeamHealth.
