TeamHealth Announces Executive Management Promotions

I am delighted to announce three important promotions among our executive team that became effective May 1, 2008.

Greg Roth assumed the role of CEO of TeamHealth, having served as President and COO since November 2004. He is responsible for the day-to-day management of all areas of TeamHealth. As the organization’s Executive Chairman, on a full-time basis I am concentrating primarily on physician relationships, quality of care and patient safety initiatives, strategy, and growth. Greg has done an exceptional job in his position as President and COO of TeamHealth, and I have complete confidence in his capability to excel in this expanded role. His unique combination of clinical, financial and business experience paired with our strong physician leaders will serve our affiliated physicians and client hospitals very well.

Joe Carman was promoted to the position of Chief Administrative Officer. Joe joined TeamHealth in July 2004 as President of TeamHealth’s Health Care Financial Services division (HCFS), where he was responsible for the overall performance of billing and reimbursement functions for more than 7 million annual patient encounters. In his new role, Joe will continue to oversee HCFS and has assumed responsibility for information technology, human resources, and building management.

Kent Bristow, who has held various financial and operational roles within TeamHealth since 1997, has assumed responsibility for the specialty services lines, including military staffing through Spectrum Healthcare Resources, locum tenens staffing through D&Y, pediatric urgent care through After-Hours Pediatrics, radiology, teleradiology, and the medical call center. Kent has also retained his responsibility for the integration department, the performance improvement department, and managed care.

Since the creation of TeamHealth in 1994 through the unification of the strong regional groups that preceded it, we have all worked hard to create the premier organization in our niche of healthcare. Through the collaboration of our experienced physician and business leaders, and through strategically planned evolution, we have grown in size and scope. More importantly, our team of employees and clinicians has advanced healthcare in the U.S. in a lasting and meaningful way.

We have a wonderful combination of “founders” among us, teamed with bright, experienced physicians and business leaders who have grown, developed and earned their experience at other organizations. I am excited about our prospects for the future and salute Greg, Joe and Kent as they take on these expanded roles.
