TeamHealth Physician Elected to AMA Board

Steven Stack, M.D. Becomes First Emergency Physician to Serve on Board

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., June 19, 2006 –TeamHealth today announced that Steven J. Stack, M.D., FACEP, who serves as acting emergency department medical director and staff physician at TeamHealth client Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., has been elected to the American Medical Association’s Board of Trustees. Dr. Stack is the first emergency physician to serve on the board.

Dr. Stack believes the emergency physician brings a valuable perspective. “On every shift, we make complex decisions on short notice and with limited information,” he said. “We interface with nearly every aspect of the healthcare delivery system, and we have a unique skill set. I look forward to the opportunity to serve my fellow physicians on the AMA Board of Trustees,” said Dr. Stack.

Dr. Stack will fill the young physician seat, which is reserved for a physician younger than 40 years at the time of election.

“Dr. Stack is truly an exceptional physician with a passion for medicine and for improving the delivery of healthcare,” said TeamHealth’s chairman and CEO, Lynn Massingale, M.D., FACEP. “These qualities are apparent in his work with our client hospital in Memphis and will serve him well on the AMA Board of Trustees.”

Dr. Stack is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and a Diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
