Formerly Emergency Professional Services, TeamHealth Midwest provides administrative and staffing services to hospital emergency departments and urgent care centers throughout the midwest.
Corporate Profile
TeamHealth Midwest, established in 1978, provides emergency department contract management, professional staffing and house physician services in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
TeamHealth Midwest furnishes administrative direction and physician staffing for emergency departments ranging in size from 10,000 to approximately 50,000 annual patient visits. TeamHealth Midwest maintains a very stable group of physicians and contracts and continues to provide service at its first contract site.
James J. Rybak, MD, FACEP, served as president of TeamHealth Midwest for 15 years prior to its merger with TeamHealth and continues in that role. He is board certified in emergency medicine and family practice. Dr. Rybak is a graduate of the Ohio State University College of Medicine and received his postgraduate training at Northwestern and Stanford. He served as a physician in the United States Army in the Republic of Vietnam prior to pursuing a career in emergency medicine. Dr. Rybak, who continues to practice clinical medicine, has practiced emergency medicine in California, Illinois and Ohio. Dr. Rybak is assisted in the management of TeamHealth Midwest by chief operating officer Mr. Noel Slonaker.
Michael C. Thomas, MD, FACEP, chief medical officer, manages and coordinates medical director activities among emergency departments, urgent care centers and other clinical sites in conjunction with Dr. Rybak. Dr. Thomas is board certified in emergency medicine. He is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and received his postgraduate training at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Thomas joined TeamHealth Midwest in 1979.
