TeamHealth Midsouth

Overview

Formerly Southeastern Emergency Physicians (SEP), TeamHealth Midsouth provides administrative and staffing services to hospital emergency departments, hospital medicine programs and primary care clinics in Arkansas, Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

TeamHealth Midsouth forges partnerships with providers, payors, hospitals and healthcare organizations to harness, enhance and share the knowledge, experience and commitment of all, with the goal of improving the effectiveness of hospital-based healthcare resources in the communities we serve.

Corporate Profile

TeamHealth Midsouth was founded in 1980 by emergency physicians that included Lynn Massingale, MD, CEO of TeamHealth. After 14 years of growth in regional emergency department services, the group adopted the name TeamHealth and began to affiliate with other regional groups in 1994.

Randal L. Dabbs, M.D., FACEP, FAAFP, is an original founder of Southeastern Emergency Physicians (SEP) and currently serves as President and Chief Medical Officer of TeamHealth Midsouth. Dr. Dabbs is ABEM and ABFP certified. He received his B.S. from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1973 and his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 1976. He completed his residency training in family medicine at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville in 1979, where he later held the position of Chief of Emergency Services from 1982 to 1999.

Monty Scott serves as chief executive officer of TeamHealth Midsouth. He joined TeamHealth Midsouth in 1995. Mr. Scott earned a B.A. degree, with honors, from The University of Tennessee in 1985 and a master's of business administration in 1987.
