Mark W. Harris, MD, FACEP

President, Northwest Division

As president of emergency services for the TeamHealth Northwest Division, Dr. Harris works closely with our clients to ensure healthy business relationships. He is responsible for all aspects of the division’s business, including financial solvency, physician relations, revenue generation, marketing, corporate development, and shareholder and client relations.

Dr. Harris assumed the role of President of NEP in October 2010. Following his emergency medicine residency at IU-Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana, Dr. Harris completed post-graduate studies in Hyperbaric Medicine, Duke University, and the University of Maryland.

In 1983 Dr. Harris became a staff attending and baromedical director at Deaconess Hospital, Evansville, Indiana, until 2000 when he became facility medical director for Whidbey General Hospital, Coupeville, Washington.

In 2003, Dr. Harris took on the multiple roles of facility medical director, St. Joseph Medical Center; regional CQI director for Franciscan emergency departments in Tacoma, Washington; and special projects director for TeamHealth's national Patient Safety Office (PSO). With the PSO, he helped develop many of TeamHealth's current national CQI projects.

In 2008, Dr. Harris joined TeamHealth's corporate executive team as senior vice president, emergency medicine division, where he helped develop national emergency department operational initiatives such as a team dedicated to improving metrics through LEAN methodology.
